HISTORY
The market was founded in 1981 to give downtown residents a place to find fresh produce after Palo Alto's last downtown grocery store closed. The Market has become an essential part of the community, drawing young and old alike to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere, listen to live music, and of course, shop for high quality produce and other local foods.

ORGANIZATION
The market is a volunteer run 501(c)4 non profit organization. Proceeds from the operation of the market are donated to Avenidas, a non-profit agency servicing mid-Peninsula seniors and caregivers.

BOARD
The market is run by a market manager, and a volunteer board. [contact us]
